I have bought the OBD adapter and Bimmercode premium to do this myself. Now only if someone can tell me which option to disable. Thanks

Please try the following and see if it works.

Step 1 : Select 'Instrument Cluster' from the main page (Control Units).

Step 2 : Once on this page, then click on the 'Expert Mode' rectangle box that is on the bottom left.

Step 5 : Here you should be able to select 'nicht_aktiv'.

Step 6 : Go back to the 'Instrument Cluster' page and on the top right you should see the code option. Click code and hopefully this should disable it.

It won't go this way. Get it done via some programmer. I think they delete a line somewhere.

Re: BMW - Coding & enabling hidden features

Which OBD module/connector is best to buy? and where do i get it from. I would prefer cabled or WiFi (I dont trust the reliability of a bluetooth connection)

there re a bunch on amazon but does anyone have a preferred option.

OBD ENET cable is the most reliable option for the Newer F and G series BMW cars. No need to worry about the connection dropping or slow speeds. I bought my cables from amazon, quality is decent. Only issue is that they take 10-12 days to deliver.

Veepeak ones are solid. I’m using the BT4.0 one, no drops/errors while coding w BimmerCode

Found this on Bimmerpost and tried it on my car, it worked.
On bimmercode, you have to go into the expert options of the instrument cluster module (DKOMBI). There, you'll have to search for GESCHW_LIMIT_INDIEN_SCHWELLE_1 and GESCHW_LIMIT_INDIEN_SCHWELLE_2. Set those to 0x0. That should do it.

Re: BMW - Coding & enabling hidden features

I have coded the following in my G30 530d using Bimmercode with a Vgate vLinker BM Plus adapter.

- Auto start-stop memory: As opposed to completely disabling it, this one remembers the last setting.
- Automatic passenger side mirror tilt level when in reverse: The passenger side mirror was tilting way to far for my liking, I have now adjusted it to tilt only 60% of its default value.
- Disabled the front window lifter iterruption when opening the door: Now the front windows dont stop rolling up when I open the door.

Stuff I would like to code:

- Add the gear display in the instrument cluster but that is something bimmercode cannot do. xHP can do this but their flash license is too expensive for just the getting gear display since I don't indend to do the full transmission remap which it is mainly used for.
- Enable full screen Apple CarPlay (my car has the split screen by default). There is an option for this within bimmercode but that only works if the iDrive firmware version is NBTevo_N or greater. My car came with NBTevo_M so need to check if I can get this updated from BMW service center. Will appriciate if someone can share contact of a trusted SA here in Pune for the same. (we bought the car pre-owned)

Re: BMW - Coding & enabling hidden features

Dear Forum members,

I am thinking of retrofitting my X5-2015 with a digital dash- 6WB.
Has anyone tried doing this in INDIA ?
Can you connect me to someone who can do this , this will obviously need coding also after fitting the new Dash ( if its possible) .
Any place in Mumbai where this can be done ??
Thanks
