re: Are you happy with your OEM headlights?

Quoting my post.

I've gone for "No"

Creta - Good headlight setup for City usage but on highways, it is not up to the mark. I feel a lot strained when I'm on the highways than in the city. Low beam coverage is good but the intensity is low. On paper, the specification of 60W is good but in reality, doesn't feel like it is 60W.
As mentioned, the OEM setup was good enough for city speeds but anything more, tiredness would kick in faster due to the overall strain attributing to poor visibility and slower average speeds.

Tired of all trials done for an upgrade in terms of lighting, decided to get the Morimoto Mini D2S 4.0 Stage III kit retrofit and since then it has been a pleasure to drive at night on any road. This is one of the best DIY's ever done on any of my cars.

Low beam

re: Are you happy with your OEM headlights?

Yes I am happy with my Fortuner 3.0 lights. Have never felt like upgrading in the last couple of years.

However, from day 1, I feel my grand i10 has weak headlights and planning for 100-90 bulbs upgrade.

re: Are you happy with your OEM headlights?

Not at all. My Elite i20 has reflector type headlights and the throw was pathetic. First thing I did after getting the car from showroom was upgrading my lights to 90/100w bulbs with relay. I used 90/100w setup for close to 4 years and it really made the night drives less stressful. In October 2020, i upgraded my lights to Projectors from Automotive Lighting Experts Bangalore and now the lights are awesome. Also upgraded my fog lights to led and night driving is a breeze now.

re: Are you happy with your OEM headlights?

Hi, I drive a VW Ameo, the car has same pathetic headlamps as the Polo. How much would be the cost to upgrade the low beam with Morimoto projectors + HID?

Thanks in advance.

re: Are you happy with your OEM headlights?

I bought a brand new Ignis in January. I have noticed that when in low beam, passenger side beam is farther than driver side. What can be the issue and is it fixable with adjustment screw on the headlight ?

That's how it is meant to be. To avoid blinding the vehicles on the opposite side and to view the kerb better.

Ford has always given Fiesta good headlights. Right from the original version the car had double barrel headlights. Old Figo, Ikon and Escort were below average in the same.

Re: Are you happy with your OEM headlights?

I am quite ok with Linea's setup as per my requirements. City driving is fine with low beam. In highway, switching to high plus fogs does the job.

Re: Are you happy with your OEM headlights?

I just come across this headlight review and I have never seen such reviews before. Quite useful if one wants to compare car headlights.

https://www.cardekho.com/india-car-n...ared-27322.htm

I request the mods in Team-bhp to accommodate such reviews in their future car / bike reviews.

Re: Are you happy with your OEM headlights?

Voted No.
My Mercedes CLA has bi xenons with 4300k Phillips hid and I am not satisfied with their throw on the highway so I am aiming at an upgrade for the headlight or I am thinking to add some aftermarket auxiliary lights and keep the main headlight in their stock condition.
