These features are designed in modern Cars with a vision of ideal Driving culture and habits existing in the countries where they are designed. Where children sit on proper child seats, strapped with appropriate seat belts.
What they miss out is that such ideal culture, conditions and Habits are not followed across the globe.
Copy Pasting those Features to the Indian Market could result in nightmares.
That's where the importance of India specific designs is paramount. The placement of that switch on the Dashboard, would Safely take it out of the reach of kids or any unintentional touch by adults.
All it needs is a shift of placement.
God forbid, we don't want people to get wary of that dangerous button after a few unfortunate souls are hurt.
Another example of such unthoughtful designs is the placement of the Keyless Start-Stop button on the Left side of the Steering near the centre console. Prone to tampering by a kid.
It feels so awkward to start the car with your Left Hand after years of developing a habit of cranking the engine with the Right Hand. Also it offends those who don't like to Start anything with the Left Hand. Pretty insensitive of our great Indian Culture and Values.
Placing it on the Right side would be SAFE and easy to access with the Right Hand. Two birds with one stone!
