Thanks for the confirmation... Yesterday ordered ELM327 bluetooth version from ebay (Paid Rs.940 including shipping) & they delivered it today ..
Works like a charm in my Ikon....

May not be relevant to this thread but posting it here, I have below error codes retrieved from ECU..

P0118,P1131 and P1132... Are these errors related to any of the problems I am facing in my car like... High RPM while clutch is engaged/High engine temp and always high speed fan is working/Petrol smell inside the cabin...

P1132 Ford - Lack of Upstream Heated Oxygen Sensor Switch Bank 1

Possible causes
- Leaking fuel injector bank 1
- EGR stuck open
- Engine mechanical condition

P0118 Ford - Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor Circuit High

Possible causes

Nice detective work! The description of the pcodes, point to your oxygen sensors not working which leads to rich air/fuel mixture being sent to the engine(resulting in smell). Also this causes the engine to rev higher when the clutch is pressed. About the coolant temp, you can check if the temp gauge shows a high value immediately after a morning start. If so it means your coolant sensor is faulty.

I would suggest you to delete those error codes from ECU. Drive your car for a week and scan ECU for error. I had two error listed in Ford Fiesta 1.4 TDCi ECU, deleted them and checked back a week later. Zero fault codes.

ELM327 is a very handy device. Must have.

Good that you bought the ELM 327 which makes life easier for you as it avoids visits to ASC for any problems.

If the error codes reappear in a day or two then look into the problem and get them solved after which you'll need to clear the codes again.

I just love that device, gives me all inside information that I need at any time.

In the Fiesa the OBD port is under the steering wheel inside a cover, and in the i10 the OBD port is below the fuse box flap and faces vertically down no need to open the fuse box flap on the dash. In the AStar its under the steering wheel towards the left.

Btw the Scangauge2 reportedly works with AStar and it might work with K series Swift and Ritz. PLX devices reportedly doesn't work.

You'll need a ELM 327 OBD II Bluetooth reader to connect the Samsung Note to the car's ECU. Search on Ebay, India for the OBD 2 reader that starts from Rs 950.

Going by your signature your Dzire is 2013 so any scanner's are fine that are listed on Ebay.

The errors not appeared again since last 4 days. I guess I can say, the RPM shoots up when clutch is pressed issue is gone.. though I want to wait for some more days and see. But the petrol smell is still there
