Thanks. Let me search from where to source the above mentioned scanners.

G-Scan 2 would be ₹1,50,000+.

Trying to get a good deal for G-Scan 2 complete kit. Shall update when I get one.

Yes, saw the pricing for G-Scan and others . I think I'll start with the cheap ones first and then move on higher as per the need.

Bought an ELM327 one just to get hold of the basics and see what info is obtained etc. Using Torque Pro and pairing with the adapter took 30 seconds flat. Now, since the OBD port is always powered, is it ok to leave the adapter in the port or should I take it out after every trip?

I have left it in the OBD port, no issues so far.

If you use the car regularly let it be in the port, if NOT remove it.

i bought the TOPDON OBDCAN Elite for around 70 USD during November sale. Presently it sells for around 90 USD on AliExpress. It covers almost all the cars that have an OBD port and includes ABS/Airbag fault codes identification and resetting. A good investment IMO.
As for keeping the ELM327 plugged in, agree with above member's view that the drain on battery is small and unlikely to drain the battery if car is used regularly. However I am a bit wary of this Chinese stuff and always wonder if there is an internal short in the piece what could happen. There would likely be a protective fuse for the OBD port but why take the risk?

Re: OBD (On-board diagnostics) for Indian Cars

Got to experience the G-Scan tool on my Hyundai Creta for a short duration.

Slightly slow in terms of operation but options are a lot similar to the ones available in my LAUNCH x431 PRO. Only extra things are ECM and Key programming along with data analysis etc in the G-Scan.

Re: OBD (On-board diagnostics) for Indian Cars

Hi All,

I own a 2019 Hyundai Elite i20 Asta(O) Diesel.

I am looking for a good OBD adapter for personal use. Can you please suggest me something ideal and similar to the one Hyundai showroom guys have?

I have seen a bluetooth OBD adapter with the Hyundai service center guys connected to some app in a regular samsung tablet. Does anyone know which adapter and app they use in the Hyundai showrroms?

Please give me suggestions. Thanks in advance

Re: OBD (On-board diagnostics) for Indian Cars

Hello friends,

I have a June 2012 Maruti suzuki swift with a 1.2 litre k series engine. Off late have been getting intermittent engine check light.

I have bought the bluetooth ELM 327 communicator, I have tried 2 highly rated free software from Google play but could not communicate with the engine ECM.

Can some one let me know what is the right software that has capability to communicate with the ECM.

For personal use, get any ELM327 OBD 2 adaptor. There are plenty of them available for cheap on Amazon, and if you don't mind waiting, cheaper on aliexpress.

Probably, an issue with the protocol being selected in the app. Play around with the protocol settings in Torque and it should work.

1. Several of the chinese import types have an imperfect implementation of the ELM protocol, I've personally found excellent results with this one - which also has a HS/MS switch hence should work with Forscan for Ford vehicles. https://www.aliexpress.com/item/3283...5d282c7aZsTo94

2. There's another app that I prefer to Torque - a french app (has an English UI though) available on Google Play / the Apple App Store https://www.outilsobdfacile.com/ .. get the paid version, it is well worth it.

Re: OBD (On-board diagnostics) for Indian Cars

@a4nurag - Gscan is the older tool - Next time, please insist they use GDS (which runs on a Samsung tablet). There are newer features in GDS. For example, the steering angle calibration on G-Scan requires some sort of manual input while turning the steering wheel while on GDS its done automatically (once you center the steering).

There are also other features and systems that are not on G-Scan which are on GDS.

Re: OBD (On-board diagnostics) for Indian Cars

Apologies if this has been answered previously, my search did not yield the same

If you can guide me on the below,

Need - Compact OBD Scanner - the ELM type.
Car - 2009 Linea MJD

The V2.1 does not work on the 2009 Linea MJD.
There is a V1.5 - will this work?

Can anyone specifically share a model / link that works for the 2009 Linea MJD
Will this read / share all sensor data and error codes.

Re: OBD (On-board diagnostics) for Indian Cars

Are there any OBD2 Apps compatible with Android Auto?

I'm imagining a setup to convert the HUD (Nexon) as dashboard where the OBD2 guages (or atleast the readinging) could be displayed a la Torque Lite/Pro.

This post (Ford Endeavour : Official Review) (Ford Endeavour : Official Review) by n.devpath explains configuring Sync3 on Endeavour with help of OBD2AA app. Unfortunately it has been removed (The Built Tough Ford Endeavour 3.2 Titanium - Ownership Experience) from Google Play.

Any thoughts?

MODS: I've already posted this question on another thread without any response yet. If this is against policy please delete this post.

I had the ELM327 OBD2 V2.1 in my Linea Tjet and it worked well with the torque app.
