Help On Porting Gypsy Head

Hi Frends,
I have a Maruti Gypsy MG410 4geared (4wd enabled) first lot japnese 1000cc model using 195 /65 radial tyres...Im using it on LPG Lovato Authorised kit...My vehicle has done 95k kilometeres...its good mentained and properly serviced at maruti service too...but im facing poor pickup on petrol as well as LPG...The Problem is when change to upper gear at sufficent speed(means from 1st to 2nd or 2nd to 3rd) I Get a feeling of load on the engine and a bit vibrations too...
I have ben given advice from a local mechanic that if u port the Head of the engine it will Perform Very Good...Without Losing the mileage...I Dont Have any idea of this Portng n Stuff...Please Explain The Term and its consequences(if drop of mileage-How much) or (Gain In Pick up-How much %)...

Given the fact that your car has run 95k km, you could do a number of things to improve its degraded performance.
