The vehicle hasn't been driven after this issue (except to the FNG) and so far the oil levels seemed fine. Will keep an eye on that.

The model number is:

Part number: 818987-1
OE Part number: 03L145721BV100
Model: GTC1549VZ
I have a Nissan X trail, and I replaced its turbo core a while ago. There is a guy in Mumbai who can source and ship it to you.
He provided me with a turbo core of "Turbonetics" make. Its a brit company that specialises in this kind of work and is anyway better than cheap Chinese knockoffs that you will get while scouting for the part.

His name is Vikas shah and he runs Gemini Turbo. He is based out of Mumbai if memory serves and his no. is 90223 87808.

Avoid the Chinese made core like a plague, look for original Honeywell or reputed makes like turbonetics. Good luck

My car has been going to one Mr Abhishek Karkare for the past five years or so. He's good with what he does and suggested that the core be replaced, instead of the entire setup.

I spoke to him after reading your post. He is of the opinion that the turbo core replacement should do the trick. However, the chassis number is required to be assured that it is the right fit considering the model and the age of the vehicle.

He also mentioned that a new turbo can also be sourced.

Should you be interested in having a word, I can share his contact details. He's located at Kiwale (Pune).

Regards.
Can you please share Mr. Karkare's contact details. Thanks
