Noise in the Clutch?

For some time now I get this stange noise in my Hyundai Accent where the engine or something seems to be going choon-choon-choon-choon. I only notice the sound when it's in neutral, but it's not a very loud noise so maybe it's there all the time it's on. When I press the clutch even slightly, the noise goes away.

I have checked the fluids - they are all fine.

What could it be?

Diagnose Replace Clutch
Check your fork/pivot ball contact point.
This will be fixed by the service center. Is your car under warranty? How many kms?

How "slightly" are we talking about here?

If its not like just touching the pedal.. it could be ... something in the gearbox.... checked the gear oil?

Disclaimer: just an intelligent guess....

slightly meaning I depress it say half a centimeter (to maximum a centimeter). The fluids are all good.

normally the clutch doesn't get disengaged just by pressing 1cm.... so it should be the clutch of the gearbox....

at 1 cm depressing the pedal it only should be Clutch Release Bearing (CRB).... but normally it doesn't do the choon..choon.... sound,.... its more like... sshhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh....

Re: Noise in the Clutch?

The query is about Indigo LS (May 2004) which has covered 2,34,405 kms.
The Clutch Plate, Pressure Plate, Clutch Release Bearing have been replaced at 2,27,XXX kms.

There is some noise from the engine bay when the car is in neutral and clutch fully released. When the Clutch is pressed (fully or even halfway), the noise disappears.
Is it the Clutch Release Bearing? If yes, does it wear out so early (within 7000 kms).
Does the Gear box have to dismantled to replace CRB and Flywheel?
If I have to replace CRB, should I replace the Flywheel too?

What is the difference between Pressure Plate and Flywheel? What is cost of Flywheel if it is different from Pressure Plate?

Is it that the Spare Parts shop sold me the Clutch Plate, Pressure Plate, and CRB of Indica?

Hey, have you got answers for the above queries which were unanswered?
I’m
Facing same issue on my Laura TDI.
Thanks,

Thanks,
We had sold the car in Aug-Sept. 2012.
I did not do anything for that noise.

Thanks,
To replace the CRB, Clutch Plate , Pressure Plate or Flywheel the gearbox has to be uncounted from the engine block. The entire gearbox is unbolted longer access to the above parts.

The flywheel is the part that the engine rotates with the crank. The clutch plate is sandwiched between the flywheel and the pressure plate and the CRB is the part that moves the pressure plate spinga to either relieve or put pressure onto the clutch plate so that it either sticks to the flywheel or moves away from it.

Look up any good video on YouTube on how a clutch works to get good understanding.
