Re: Installed wrong-sized wipers : Now what?

Just 2 months back I too had changed my wiper blade. I wanted to fit a frameless one. The shop didn’t have one. In fact he had a last piece of wiper left which was smaller by 1-2 inches. (Both wipers)
I was hesitant to buy it. But he kept bragging that it is used in Toyota Fortuners and other high end cars. It also looked good. No complaints.
He even blamed the OEM wipers for not being a good quality.
So I bought it and he charged 800 rupees.
Only to realise after 2 days that the smaller wiper was not fitting properly. And the arc shaped area right in front of drivers sight was left unwiped for about 1-2 inches above.
So I was left with a 1-2 inch smaller wiper and another 1 inch of wiper not in contact with the glass.

Now I changed with right sized Bosch wiper for half the price.

Re: Installed wrong-sized wipers : Now what?

All the accessories shop usually keep standard sizes and use them for multiple cars. It is a common practice and it is not possible to remember the wiper blade size everytime. Just ensure that wipers are leaving no marks and making no noise and just use them. That is the best thing to do.
