M800 -Wheel Problem

Hi guy i have 97 m800 carb engine.I have been experiencing a problem whose cause i am unable to identify.whilst driving in 1st tww gear especially while accelerating i notice a tug at the front left wheel.I had the cv joint boots replaced on both sides.Still the problem occurs.I have noticed that the problem seems to be less when the tyres have been properly inflated.Could the drive shaft be at fault?

Has anyone faced a similiar problem.Also wanted to know wheter having a high idle speed will affect FE of the car.

thanks

Have you checked the wheel alignment/balancing lately?

Having a high idle RPM will surely affect the FE, but not much ?

@mithun

Can you provide more details as to when you first noticed this? What kind of tyres you are using - radials or cross-ply? Do they have the same wear & tear? Any visit to the service centre recently? How is the suspension - have you got a overhaul done given the age of your car?

Answer to these questions might help in diagnosing the problem.

Hi
i have MRZ Zigma radials on all 4's.I had overhauled the bushings of the suspension but still the problem persist.Also the tyres have not worn out and are in good condition.The problem occurs when i press the accelerator in 1 or second gear the wheel seems to be tugged at with a dull thud sound.

Hey I have an 800 and it too seems too be suffering from a similar problem.
In first or second gear there is a lurch when you accelerate like the wheel and chassis are not firmly fixed like how when in a train if the engine pills the carriages move with a lurch. Is it a suspension problem..

Guys help me out too.

Seems to be a suspension issue. The rubber bushes are worn out and would need to be replaced. Suggest you get the car inspected and get suspension overhauled.

Thanks for the info guys will get my suspension and mounts checked.

BTW I want to upgrade to 165/60R12 71H form my stock 145/70R12 69S.

Will this affect the ground clearance as already my car has an untolerant clearance?
