My Audi A4 is about to complete 1 year so the first service is due (1 year or 15K KM, whichever is earlier). During this time, the car has only clocked 4K KM and looks and feels like new.
I have received the following estimate for 34K from Audi, details available in attached pics:
Parts: 17K
Labor: 12K
Tax: 5K
-------------
Total: 34K
Does this look right? Is it safe to skip replacing some items, given low mileage? Air or AC filters, for example?
Look forward to your thoughts!

You can take the decision after seeing the condition of the filters. I assume they'll be fine and can be skipped in this service based on the low usage. I'd even give the wheel alignment a skip.

Amey
Looks ok to me. As the car will be under warranty, the things you can skip are washing and alignment. The others are a part of the maintenance schedule. Do check the maintenance schedule in your owner manual. If the item is mentioned in it for the designated kms/time you have to get them done till the car is in warranty. This is from my experience in BLR.
As per my experience you can check the following items:
GFF / Guided function (Pls check what is this, as this was not charged to me)
Wheel Alignment (Not required as your vehicle running is only 4K kms)
8w0133843e Air Filter (Air filter change was not required as per dealership as vehicle running was only 8k Kms)
Rs 1275+3060+3151.70= 7486
Total with GST =8833
If you can remove the above 3 items your estimate will drop to 26K. Otherwise the estimate seems to be fine.
There doesn't seem to be anything wrong with the quote, when you buy an expensive car, everything along with it is bound to be expensive, I second the opinion of goenkakushal on this matter as regards items that can be skipped from replacement.
Hi,
The estimate seems to be on par with the general cost of 1st service of luxury vehicles.
Things you can skip.
1. Wheel alignment- just too expensive in ASS. My suggestion find a nice tyre shop and do the alignment there as you can get it done at 1/4th of the price listed above. Wheel alignment is recommended to be done at 5k intervals, for longer tyre life. I have been doing that for all my cars owned by my family till date.
2. Washing- my personal opinion is that this should be complimentary, u can get it washed outside at a nice washing centre
By skipping these two alone you save 5k.
Also you can talk to the SA and ask if Air filter and AC filter can removed and given a nice air wash. You save there as well since your running has been only 4k kms.
Regards
