I think this will be a record for this thread. I challenge anyone to beat me(tata owners exempt)
I will try to beat that in Activa which is standing for past 3 - 4 months idle. But i havent driven it for past 1 - 1.5 years now. Though i am pretty sure i will be able to beat your record after all its top speed is 90 and it will touch 100 after a hell of struggle .

I did an approx 11.6x to the ton in my stock EIII baleno.
Timed it myself with the stopwatch on my wristwatch.
Shifted to first. Clutch in. Both my hands near the top of the steering. Right hand middle finger on the watch button.
Took off and started the watch at the same time. Shifted to 2nd. Positioned the hands again to stop the timer.
Since it was a straight open stretch it wasn't too difficult to keep an eye on the speedo. Clicked again at 102/103is kmph.

There obviously could have been some human error - but my gut feel was Overdrive's timing of 12.8 for the Baleno was waayy off. ACI's 11.13 was probably more realistic.

Was it done using a stockwatch or a Vbox, i guess the car has huge speedo error, ideally a Stock v1 indica in ageing condition will never see 100 unless a Cayenne or so is towing it

Dude, i think speedo error is playing a lot here! An almost stock swift wont do 9.7 to the ton! I may be wrong though!

All times from the Gtech Pro:

Vtec : 0 - 96 = 8.4 seconds
C220 : 0 - 96 = 9.0
Jeep : 0 - 96 = Coupla minutes

Personal best timing of late has been in monkeys RS : 0 - 96 = 6.7 seconds.

I agree with JayD too.

My esteem with a 4x1 race spec header and free flow exhaust (with a straight pipe from the manifold upto the end can) and with a OE K&N air filter manages to do 0-100kmph in 10.2 secs (best i have achieved so far).

man i could not believe i broke 10 secs , but trust me its a fact , as i said i was alone : weight plays a factor generally car feels better when i am on my last quarter tank of gas [although during the run i had 3/4 th of a full tank : power petrol no octane boost even ! ]

this run was in the night , airs gotten cooler : it all makes a difference

did the 10.55 sec run with my buddy in the car he s another member...he has a HIGHLY modified esteem and he could not believe it

also i have bare minimum ICE [ for the weight factor ] especially no subs

my car can and will get faster : without more "modifications" {highly minor} just high quality care & love man

my fuel system etc is kept as clean as possible
any mumbai boys want proof?

will take a video soon tooo

rock on boys
cy

ps
i compensated for the speedo error plus i shifted JUST before my rev limiter cut in

+
the swift s air intake set up has been tremendously improved as compared to the esteem : swift breathes deeper And better
