Yes, the spark plugs were opened and shown to me; visually they appeared OK but the fault was moving from one cylinder to the next on interchanging them and therefore, Audi decided to swap them with new spark plugs. Timing/chain issues were already ruled out by scanning. Happy to report that almost a week has passed now without any issues and I hope to enjoy my car with 'luxurious' peace henceforth.

Today I got my steed washed in a SMARTWASH facility at an IOCL pump in Munirka and boy, I was impressed. It is a 15 min car-wash and uses a compound that automatically dries up the water in about 10-15 mins if you are going at 30-40 km/hr. Really amazing job, some pics below for your eyes! All this in preparation of my upcoming road trip: Delhi - Kolkata - Konark - Ranchi - Delhi.

On a somewhat related note, I really don’t understand why these reports aren’t readily shared by companies with the customer. A customer’s car is being worked on and diagnosed by the company and in most cases for a fee (even if its in warranty, one has paid for that benefit in some form or the other).

Transparency of operations demand that the customer should be entitled to any reports and details relating to this process. This sort of cagey behavior only erodes my confidence in any counter-party.

Just completed my Delhi - Kolkata - Bhubaneswar - Ranchi - Delhi trip. Flawless performance from my A4, put a smile on my face everytime I drove. Roads were mostly great, except some rough patches for getting onto Purvanchal from Buxar. Took that route since we decided to come via Bodh Gaya during our return journey. Maplogs follow. Happy to share detailed road conditions with anybody who is interested.

Just wanted to update the forum that the first service was done couple of weeks ago at Audi Gurugram - very good CS and was also offered some freebies in the end. Pocket pinch is Nil as the car was offered with complimentary SVP for 3 yrs. Miles just fly by with this car and the 15000 km 1st service came up in just 5.5 months. Phew!

I followed that up with another trip to Kolkata, for folks who are heading that way and back, NH-19 after Varanasi is a mess all the way to Bihar-Jharkhand border. Several unmanaged diversions and at a particular place near Kudra (few kms before Mohania from the Kolkata side), my A4 had to cross over to the other side over the curb to get away from standstill traffic. Kudos to Audi for making this nice sedan which can do occasional gymnastics and come up with flying colours. The total mileage was 20 kmpl.

Once we came back to Delhi, the usual spa treatment and pampering!

A long awaited update: Car has travelled for almost 27000 km in the last year, it is a joy to drive. Very recently, encountered an accident due in Delhi NCR owing to a person taking a L turn at an intersection (instead of following lane driving). Some parts needed to be changed, Audi Gurgaon body shop was very helpful and worked with the Insurance Provider to get the car back as 'New' within a week. Kudos to them!

Now waiting to go out again whenever the sky beckons.

Today, the Audi connect device was installed by the dealership - they were very proactive in contacting me and setting up the appointment with the technician. Still dabbling with the device, excited to be able to 'watch over' my car remotely.

Cant wait to start my trip to Kolkata next week, anybody willing to join in?
