I recently purchased a used Innova. Its a 2011 model which has run 132000 kms. Unfortunately after a month of usage I noticed that the headlamp levelling switch is not working and my headlamp beam is stuck too close to the car.
The replacement cost of this tiny switch is INR 4000 and there seems to be no aftermarket replacement either. This made me think if I can just pull out a switch from a scrap Innova for a couple of hundred bucks. 4000 rupees may not be much, but I would like to take this as a chance to explore the scrapyards of Bangalore. Maybe it will be helpful in the future if I need any other more expensive parts.
Can someone please advice if my adventure is worth the effort?
Also can someone suggest a good scrapyard for me to start from?

Look no further than Shivajinagar Gujri just behind St Mary's Cathedral.

Its a bone yard for all things automotive. Bikes, Cars, Trucks etc. Pretty Unscrupulous dealers who take you for a ride if you are not well informed. So be carefull.

Well said. Years earlier, I managed to get a replacement part for my Aveo at a bargain. But, the place itself is a little shady, keep someone in the parking lot with your vehicle when shopping, lest you find your Innova turns into a donor rl:

I would suggest to find a competent mechanic/garage who will find and install the part for you. Usually mechanics have contacts in such places and know whom to approach. Unless you are a DIY person and know about spares etc well an independant garage will be the way to go.
