Guys, has anyone here done this? I am planning to raise the suspension with spacers. Is it a good idea? I am doing this because the underbody hits big speed breakers even if I go at really slow speeds. I can either do this or I can replace the tyres with 145/80 instead of the stock 145/70

Will this cause any issues with the stability of the vehicle at high speeds, because CG would be higher?

Any competent mechanics who can do this in Bangalore?

Go for 145/80/R12s ..have been running them in my 800 since a year and 13 thousand km.And since 13 thousand km i dont remember even once my cars underbelly touching the speedbreaker plus the ride has become softer and small undulations go undetected.

The only downside is bodyroll and the steering is not as precise as it was with the 145/70/r12s.

Also there is a speedo error of around 6 km seen on the speedo as well as the odometer.

Also forgot to add the pickup decreases a tad bit.

dont put speacers..your handling will decrease ....

Thanks guys...I would probably upgrade the tyres then

@gopz: Do read my experience with the 145/80R12 tires.

It even influenced humyum to change to 145/80R12.

Ram, do you also have the same issue with steering, like humyum? after the tyre upgrade?

@gopz: No, I have no issues with steering at all. I am very happy with the tire upgrade. That said, I feel, installing a strut-brace across the McPherson strut towers will improve the Maruti 800's cornering. I have not yet done that, but intend to do so, soon!
