Cold starting with the new Indica NA

Hi all

i got a new indica DLS (NA). But it has got a problem with cold starting. Whenever i crank it doesn't start. i have to manually pump diesel by pressing a black bush or button under the hood. the problem is there only while cold start(starting after 4 or 5 hrs after parking). what could be the problem.

Also there is black smoke comin out of exhaust sometimes. is it normal behaviour of diesel cars.

Thanks,

HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY

Almost all of the indica's have starting problems.
Mine had too.
Had to open the starter and replace it's carbon. It's fine now.
I think you should take her to a mechanic and have the starter checked.

I think I have also started facing the problem.
I have driven my Indica 70K so far and never had such starting problem but now I have noticed that it doesn't start in first crank. I have to keep the key on and push the padel and than it starts after 4/5 seconds, where earlier it used to get started in half crank. I have just done the service but this issue is still there.

hi i had this problem with my indigo and it was due to a fault in the heater switch -- it has been taken care of -- i was told by the service guy that many indica's\indigo's have been known to have faced this problem.

check everything!

Heater switching system, heater plugs, starter motor, rate of Battery charging etc etc!! Any NEW car should start with a single flip of the key!!!
ANYTHING other than that is NOT normal!!
