Hi

one fine day, my hazard light stopped working, but turn signals were working fine. i showed the car to a mechanic and he told me fuse has become loose. he removed a small black box from under the steering and fixed it.

now the problem has returned and this time i am feeling reluctant to take the car to him and there is still time on my next service.

can anyone tell me how to fix it myself?

black box under steering wheel? Santro or an aeroplane?:p

I thought (and have seen) fuse box on left side of engine bay.

Oh thats where the spare fuses are kept, in the black box i.e., (:p). The mechanic must have taken a spare fuse out of that thingy and fixed it in the Fuse box in the engine compartment, on the left side, as jkd has mentioned.

There is a box in the engine compartment and also a fuse box under the front right speaker grill, this box contains the fuses for lights, fan etc.

There are just 2 spare fuses, all the other fuses are for specific electricals, maybe there is a short in your hazard warning light circuit, so the fuse might be blowing, check electricals and then replace the fuse.Should solve your problem.
