Can we find out the Colour code from VIN? I need to know the colour code for my Palio SDX - Infinity Black.

Toyota Frame number consists of 22 Characters including special characters. For getting month and year of production of the vehicle look at last 4 characters. for e.g if its 0508 then its represents as April 2008 manufactured vehicle.

Can you help me to Decode the VIN number of WAGON R VXI ABS, which i am planning to take delivery next week.

Going by your previous posts I understand that this (*GA) corresponds to July 2010. Also does this mean that the vehicle or engine is manufactured on July 2010. Please clarify me. The vehicle came to showroom on 24 Aug 2010.

Its means vehicle is manufactured on July 2010.
Engine serials numbers are different than the VIN.

Maruti-Suzuki Chassis Number Decoding

Finding the VIN & manufacturing date/year on Indian cars-04082010491-1.jpg

As shown in the picture above Maruti- Suzuki Chassis Number has 21 Characters including the special characters.

The Chassis number is embossed on the metal body and same can be found in the engine bay compartment.

The Last 2 characters of the chassis number represents the MONTH and YEAR respectively. As you can see in the above picture its showing as L6 which means its a NOVEMBER 2006 manufactured Vehicle.

Most of the new Maruti-Suzuki Chassis number starts with MA3 unlike the one shown in the picture.

The other month codes are giving below

A= JAN
B= FEB
C= MAR
D= APR
E= MAY
F= JUNE
G= JULY
H= AUG
J= SEP
K= OCT
L= NOV
M= DEC

The YEAR codes

A=2010
9=2009
8=2008
7=2007
6=2006
5=2005
