The dealer tells me the car is a December 2010 manufactured. Although as per an earlier post in this thread (with MALBB51BLAMXXXXXX VIN) you replied the manf. date as 17.11.2010.

The dealer showed me a Form-22 also, but I guess it was just a part of it that he showed me, since there was no mention of any dates on it.

Also on that Form-22 the entire VIN number read as MALBB51BLAM256157*M
Does this last *M indicate December month. AFAIK, the 9th digit indicates the month, so am assuming L= Nov(counting from A-M ignoring the I in between) Please correct me if am wrong!

M indicate Month December.
The 9th character represents the drive position and transmission for more detail on that read here.

The dealer says that the 2011 manufactured cars will be available only from April 2011 and not Jan 2011. I am finding it little hard to digest this.

Its all depends upon which manufacturer, model, variant & color etc you choose.Please keep in mind that dealers will always push for the old stock to clear. So while booking you have to specify (an email or letter is always better) that you need 2011 Manufactured vehicle (not model) only.

Dealer claims that this is a 25th december 2010 batch manufactured truck, could you pls confirm? Is it advisable to go in for this? My friend is getting some attractive discounts on this piece.

Ealier ANN confirmed as November make. So in your case ANP can be confirmed as December 2010 manufactured. Kindly do crosscheck with the Form-22 too to make sure its a December 2010 vehicle.

Edit:- You have already mentioned that. The Month code and Actual manufacturing date differs sometime. But in RC Book it will be mentioned as July 2010 Manufactured vehicle.

As per you the vehicle is sourced from some other dealer, normally i wont take a risk. Ask for a new vehicle which is invoiced to your dealer.
