IFTEX is recommended fule additive from Ford and GM and this surely dose some good.

Akshat , most important factor overall is ones style of driving , this makes a lot of difference.

Right ratio of gear changes, clutch mgmt etc will do the trick.

But most of us end uo in bumper to bumper traffic, do try taking out ur fliar ona long drive , ona steady pace shift to 5th gear too , u ll notice the actual FE by ur Flair.

In city many cars end up giving diff. FE no's.

Cheers!!

@vc12 .. I totally agree that driving style and traffic condition effect the fuel efficiency, but my problem is that there is a lot of variation in the FE with the same driving style and driving on the same roads. I went for a 1400 km long drive 2 months ago (trip from indore to mumbai) and I got a FE of 14kmpl with 100% AC.

I have decided to try my first combo. It will be reliance fuel with iftex G additive. Will report my FE figures soon

Akshat,

I am sure you will find some improvement, remember the actual effect can be felt after one full tank say 40 ltrs filled with equal recommeneded 1ml /ltr.

Hi,

Currently, I'am using iftex with normal HP/BP petrol. I'am getting a mileage of 12~13 kmpl in city with bumper to bumper traffic with 25% ac. On highways i'am getting around 15~16kmpl.

snaronikar, looks like your beating the mileage figures which even your brother reported with the car. Good work.

Looks like we can safely conclude that the Ikon Flair is no gas guzzler.

Finally could get iftex in indore. I was out on a week long trip to kerala so could not report the changes i observed. I first tried normal BP petrol ( iftex was unavialable). I got a fuel eco of 11.8 with 50% AC.

Have filled my tank with normal BP with iftex now. Will report the changes soon.

So you are seeing a positive change, right?

well yes the change has been positive, atleast from the last time (when i got a fuel eco of just around 10), but I have had fuel eco of around 12 before. I would like this performance to be repeated a couple of times before I can make conclusive comments.

Hey ,

Thats good to know your ikon is responding well....

As the line goes treat it well so will it to you...

Cheers!!! Enjoy the miles....

Last week i was on a drive all around banjara , jubliee hills the loactions with some neat roads, I was rather surpirsed that my Ikon was dammm slient.

The engine was just gliding can't hear any sound.... i was very happy with this smooth criminal.

This was one such incident before which i never got to pay that detailed attention to my car while driving, this time I was keen to hear the growl and cabin noise levels, My Panther black behaved well....

here i am again. Been traveling a lot so did not get time to fully test the results of the IFTEX additive that I have been using. But finally I got the figures. The earlier average of 11.8 was a miscalculation . The city FE that I have now calcualted is around 10.7 km/L (50% AC). As for the highways which I got to measure while I was visiting relatives was around 16 km/L.
I guess I just need to take a different route to get a better city average (The one I presently use goes through a market and it takes around 10 mins to cover 400mts).

Hello,Having an Ikon, and though its a 1.6,I feel its fussy in the fuel it drinks,it didn't like acetone,it didn't like System-G,and doesn't like regular unleaded too. The best efficiency and performance I get is by using Speed or Speed 97.

I'm happy, and the car is happy by using Speed/Speed 97.
