Re: Rust eating away my thar crde - Need advice

This kind of rusting is extremely common on aging Mahindra and Tata cars. Your best bet is to replace the panels if they are still available, or get some patchwork done by a good denter. This should be followed by liberal amounts of rust proofing and a good coat of paint. Any good denter should be willing to do it. Depending on how much you’re willing to spend, you could go for a top notch professional garage with a paint booth or a relatively more basic garage with skilled labour. A word of caution though: Make sure that all the work is done using good quality sheet metal and that they don’t just cover up the rust with body filler/Putty.

My 1993 Tata Estate was also chronically rusted. The model is too old for parts to be available, so everything had to be fabricated using sheets of metal. The whole car was taken apart, but mine had far worse rust than yours. We used fresh sheets of metal, loads of red oxide primer, anti rust coating on the underbody and topped it all with layers of paint.
