IMO its a 4 stroke engine due to the position of the inlet and outlet valves. In a 2 stroke the exhaust valve is placed lower. But I may be wrong.

^^ its a four stroke , 2 strokes ,doesnt have any valves.

A bit confusing. I'd say it's a 2 stroke. Valves can be there on a 2 stroke engine, to allow more control between exhaust and inlet durations; it's just that most of them have only one, if at all.
Any other guesses?

@Madan80 - I can't view the video from work, but AFAIK the compression and ignition stroke is supposed to be one. (with the ignition occurring at the end of compression (stroke 2) in a 4-stroke engine)

Is that what you meant? Sorry if I misunderstood your comment ...

I think the video only shows the worling stroke and omits the scavenging stroke. Hence 4 stroke?

Reasons why i was suspicous of this video not being real :
- What on earth is the camera lens made out of (not only does it have to handle the pressure, but also the heat - it can however be pinhole size, but still)
- Where is the light source? (i know that cameras that can shoot really high FPS can make night look like day, but there still has to be SOME light to work with [unlike in an enclosed cylinder])
- It doesnt get any brighter on the power stroke (it just looks like zippo fluid burning)

However, on the other hand
- I have read about cylinders with optical ports for viewing the flame font (for research and tuning purposes)
- These days anything is possible
