Tata Indigo Dicor: Components Dangerously close to the bumper?

Yesterday I was in Manipal Motors to get a wiper replaced. As I was passing by, I saw in Indigo Dicor being serviced. Decided to take a closer look. But what I observed is that there are components (I am guessing its the air filter, but its my first peep into a crdi diesel car so I am not very sure!!) which are dangerously close to the front bumper.

Or is it common in all cars and not to observe this till now!

thats probably the air box for the air filter.. Any idea where the air filter itself is located?? AFAIK, air filter should be inside the air box.

This is a problem with with indica indigo. Even minor collision will have radiator and power steering busted, along with the alternator if you are unlucky.
A big speed breaker can wreck the power steering hose if you hit it too fast, as its too low in the front, sump guard notwithstanding.

Thats the normal location for the air intake for many cars designed to take in cooler air from behind the front bumper. Nothing abnormal.

Looks more like a turbo intake to me, since you dont expect the service centre to remove the bumper to clean the normal airfilter everytime, do you ??
