I guess it depends on the usage. I change every 6 months. that is about 5-10k km. My car goes through stop go, fast, highway, and town & villages.

So its good for the engine!

In opinion diesels need less frquent oil change as that of petrol.

diesels operate at less RPM, hence less churning & hence less disintegration of oil.

well, oil change dont depend only on usage, every oil has a predefined shelf life, after which it diintegrates in suspension(seperating of base & additives).
