Hi turbosam welcome aboard. If at all Fiat is surviving to some extent its because of folks like you. I have a couple of questions about driving style and a few other tech stuff for my Petra, would you mind answering them ? I can send a P.M or call you up if you think so.

Thanks

BTW I forgot to mention I keep getting consistently 11+ KMPL in city in not so sedate driving style. It include going to 80+ some times in 3rd gear to teach cabbie indicas a thing or two and getting stuck everyday in traffic for 10-15 mins at cyber towers traffic light (aside shorter waits at other signals and intersections). The A/C is on most of the time, if I have to give a percentage it is 80+%. I feel Petra (read the 1.6L engine) has an excellent combination of power and FE.

GTO's 'belief' comment notwithstanding, I have never got below 15kpl on highway in my 2003 GTX. The city average, yes, is 9-10kpl. Once in a while I may have got a 11, but usually it is the former.

After the FFE, I suspect there is a drop in the figures, I havent really got any time to check it up. But I have been, for obvious reasons, revv happy. So I am not complaining.

The 1.6 giving only 12kpl on highways is in fact difficult for me to believe.

hi

just check with tank full to tank full drive at least 100 kms between them , same pump same way of topping up will give u eye opening figures!
if u buy the fuel in can and then fill it in the car ull get what u pay for without the cut. and will get still better figures!

Hi Turbosam,

Is that all what you need to do? Since you are associated with Fiat, can you let me know what else I can do to increase FE? I get about 10 in Bangalore city with A/C used partially. I do not rev the engine very much, at least not in the city. I try and shift in the 2-2.5k rev range. I drive Palio 1.2 NV ELX.

Cheers,
