Ford Ikon Flair Making loud Noise (Fan/Engine).

Off late, from past 1 week, my ikon is making loud noice (I feel it is radiator fan's). This is particularly happening when I drive down from office to home in evening and from home to office in morning. I will be using blower inside my car cabin most of the time. I know the fan will be switched on if the engine is heated up. But this was not happening before. This is a new problem that I'am facing from past 1 week.

You guys got any idea whether it is from Engine or the radiator fan and how it can be rectified.

snaronikar, do feel the sound is quite loud while you are inside the car, or outside? If you feel so from outside, nothing to worry.

Ikons do have noisy fans.

@ Ben: It is from outside. I cannot hear a thing inside after I close all the windows. But if I open the windows, I can hear the fan making a loud noise. Hope this is normal.

This is normal and just to be on the safe side, check if coolant level is aok and also keep a watch on the temp needle. With winter moving out, radiator fans will have more work to do.

No need to worry. I have a 06 Ikon flair and i have been having the same problem since the second service. I got it checked at the authorized lots of times. All they have to say is that " check this one, this also has the same noise." .. So i havent faced anything since some 50k odd kilometers since the sound.

Just for my understanding, how much time does the fan takes to switch off by itself. In my earlier vehicle (Wagon R) it hardly used to take 30 secs and then the fan used to stop.

I don't know the exact switching time the Fan takes, but yes it is more than my earlier zen or even my Dad's esteem.

P.S.--- I know about 1.6 & I assume it will be the same for 1.3/ Flair.

Hehe, you must mean the loud humming noise when one is outside the car and near it. Its present in my car too! Sure gives a lot of heat too. But its normal in all the Ikons. So no need to worry. On the other hand,I enjoy this loud sound,I take it as the humming sound of the pressure getting built up for the torque.
