Swift : weird noise during gear change

Started to notice a weird noise, while changing the gear expect between first and second gear. I do activate the clutch only during gear change and i don't have a habbit of driving with half clutch.

As soon as I press the clutch, their is noise, like some couplers has been loostned. However, with the gear shift I am not seeing any change. It is normal.

Any hints on what may be the cause will help. I am taking my car for 20K service on Saturday at Mandovi Motors Vijayanager.

regards,
-manju

Surely it is not a squeaky sound from cable or pedal or the foot wear. It is like having a free running metalic ring around aluminum pipe sort of the thing.

I have VXI with ABS, 14 months old, I think not bad for a petrol

@manjubp: Take it to a dealer and he will fix it. Swifts do have problem with gear shift levers.

Thanks, indeed my 20K service is due, so going on saturday for service. On the problem side, the noise is heard when clutch is pressed, even if I am not changing the gear shift, so it should be something to do with clutch.

the problem may be with the clutch bearing as it only makes noise when clutch is pressed . i dont know much about swift but my friend had same prob in his accent and it was solved by changing clutch bearing.

A lubrication job is on the cards i guess, if the pedal is not hard. Darn what did i say???

I meant if your clutch pedal is not hard to actuate, issue should be resolved with simple lubrication of cable and other moving parts. Also there is spring on the pedal, check that also.

Noise While Clutch Depressed

Hi,the problem u have mentioned could be because of a worn out clutch release bearing, because the release bearing only moves when the clutch pedal is depressed.
