Does your Swift rattle?

Lets discuss Swift and its rattling issues in this thread?

So if your Swift does rattle or used to rattle, then what did you do? How did you stop the rattling?

Did the dealership guys help in stopping the rattling?

Also mention the model and year/month of your car.

Model - Swift VDi ABS
May 2007

Yes it rattles, from the rear hatch door. Planning to get damping done. Told dealer to rectify the problem but to no avail.

Swift VDI August 07.
It didn't rattle till today. It was taken to HERTZ-fy not long after it was brought from the showroom. Heavy damping in all the doors including the boot. There's no sign of rattling till now.

BTW, the car now remains parked more than it's driven. So it's expected to be rattle free for another 6 months or so!

May the brickbats follow!

Well, this thread is about the Swift, but let me digress a bit.

IMHO, the rattling is probably due to Maruti and is not car model specific.

I bought a Wagon R Vxi last year and have never had a rattle free ride in it. Dealer doesn't seem to know how to fix the rattles. The most prominent one coming from the dashboard central console with the A/C knobs n stuff.

My .02 $'s

Mine is 2007 Ocotber end Swift VDi, till date no rattles apart from some crack sound from rear seat in some real big humps.
Damped the front doors and hatch within week after buying.

My LDI is less than two weeks old and I noticed the first rattle on Sunday. Its coming from the rear left side - still need to pinpoint where.

It never rattled before you got the professional damping done.

Rattling was mostly nonexistent, with only the dicky door pad have a high-frequency resonance; nothing quite to be unnerving. The damping did help cut out lot of noise including this minor rattling. But rattling in my car had no where been near the levels suffered by most Swift owners.

VDI, May 2007.

No rattles, but my car also has more time off than on, not having reached even 5,000 Km yet in ten months.

It does regularly get driven on some very rough side lanes, though, which should make up for some of the low mileage.
