Loss in Pickup - 2004 MPFi Zen

Hey Guys..

I have '04 model Zen(mpfi), got 56K done till date. It has underwent all the services/oil changes as suggested in the MUL manual till now.
I got a K&N universal conical filter couple of months back, which helped the pickup and increased the mileage marginally.

Lately I am noticing some drop in the performance of the car..its FE has dropped to 12-13kmpl with ac on intermittently..earlier it used to give me 16-17 consistently..I got the service done as well but it did not improve anything.

Any idea what may the cause?...
its next service is due in a couple of weeks. Anything extra you'd recommend besides the oil change.

Please let me know..

Get clutch plates checked. Loss in pickup & drop in mileage are usually due to worn out clutch plates. There might be some other reasons too but I can think of only this right now

Dirty air filter, fuel filter, engine oil, gear oil, wheel alignment, incorrect tyre pressure too may cause loss of power and mileage. The best way to diagnose is to take the car to a mechanic and let him test-drive.

sushrutha, the car is still running on stock tyres...although the time has come to change them...
I will get a thorough check done with a good mechanic of all the points mentioned...

And the other thing - did you shift your home or office, from a relatively less congested area to something like koramangala where the traffic plays a very important role in mileage reduction LOL couldnt help it, just noticed that you are from Bangalore
