How can I find out wether the steering play is correct or more than recommended play ( needing correction ?? ).

best bet would be the service center, they have the service manual which defines this.

But IMO, Safari 2.2 has hardly any play in the steering.

I think it when you can turn the steering left or right and cant feel the tyres moving.
But hey as dadu said the service center would be able to tell you for sure

Didnt feel any play. Just came back after a test drive; ehem, another test drive.
