I had the FE drop in my Palio 1.6 for sometime before the 15K service.
The problem was one puctured tyre at rear. The FE dropped to as low as 7 kmpl. After fixing the puncture it climbed back to 9 kmpl.

After 15K service, it is in the range of 10.xx

Got the engine oil flushed and changed, injector cleaned, Air/oil/fuel filter changed.

I feel the engine flush and OEM oil (Penzoil), Injector cleaning, and Air filter have contributed in increasing the FE.

The fuel makes a big difference. The regular octane returns more FE than the Speed / power high octane fuel.

So you need to have all things working right and the correct combination will return good FE.
