Fantastic stuff, these cars are built like tanks so that they can take the severe beating they go through.

Those would be the linkage to the hydraulic actuator going to the gearbox. These cars are fitted with sequential gearboxes - Pull down to go into up through the order and push up to shift to a lower gear.

IIRC- WRCs have sequential shifts, to reduce time to change gears...

Oh right. so that's what it looks like. But the regular gearshift rod is still there, it seems.

i guess that have to lifted to engage reverse gear. just like in opel!!

You have answered my second question. Sideways and Madan have answered the first question, but I was wondering what the regular gear shift rod was for. The reverse gear, most likely. Sequentially, after 1st you come down to Neutral. But can you again pull back to get to reverse? Maybe not.

these are subaru WRX GROUP N CARS, that were built in Vermont Sportcar.....
i dont think they use these cars on the wrc circuit!!!
