Stock Amaron 39Ah that came with my Tiago AMT lasted 4.5 years before showing signs of weak and no crank. Replaced with a 55Ah Amaron

Need some help in identifying an issue with my Tiago NRG. Car struggles to start in first crank after resting the car for 7+ hours. Now the car is 4.5 years old with 25.5K KM. Do you think this could be battery issue or the key switch connection issue? I am visiting Amaron battery shop over weekend to make sure the battery density is good/bad.
As per this thread I will ask them to put 55AH battery in case present battery is weak.

Hi All

Today I was forced to change the battery for my 2012 maruti alto lxi at 28800 kms on the Odo.For the last 2-3 days the starter motor was not working and the vehicle refused to start. Replaced with exide dynex MF battery for 2300/- with exchange of old battery The actual price is 3300/-.

Hi All
Sometimes things last beyond expectation the Exide Dynex battery that was changed in 2017 lasted till August 14th, 2023. Tried charging it but it was not holding the charge for the last few days the battery would die even when the engine was off and we would keep the blower or fan running. plus added to that the car was not used as regularly as it was. hence changed the battery on Oct 2nd with Amaron FLO 72-month warranty for 3500/- including the exchange of the old battery, the new one was manufactured in Aug 2023 the MRP was 5000/-

Just wanted to keep everyone updated. The old battery has been better than the OEM battery and now waiting to see how long the amaron lasts. does it fulfill the promise as expected?

MY BMW 320D AGM Varta batteries are still performing flawlessly after completion of 8 years. There have been instances where I did not use the car for 2-3 weeks, but luckily did not face any starting issues.

I have a car digital voltmeter that shows 15V once the car starts and around 12 V when switched off.

Only downside is that Varta AGM batteries are expensive and need to budget around 30K for their replacement.

Has anyone used a Tesla battery for their car? What was the experience with the battery? I saw that it is available for the same price as Amaron at a local dealer for Swift Petrol (35 Ah)

I bought the Tata Nano Genx manual transmission in July 2015. I changed the stock battery today on 9 Dec 2023 after 8.5 years. I had not used the car for 2 months and had to jump start it today. I thought that I should get it changed anyway because its been 8.5 years already..haha.

Is this the longest a car battery has lasted on this forum? Car has run 39000kms in 8.5 years.

The stock Amaron battery on my 2004 Honda City GXi lasted for 13 years . The car is totally stock and runs 65-70 kms per month .

The Amaron battery on my 1996 Maruti 800 lasted for 12 years . The car is also stock and runs 25-30 kms everyday .

Posting on this thread after a long time. Replaced the stock battery of the Seltos proactively after it had served 4 years and 7 months, 79k kms. Got Exide Mileage which comes with 30+30 warranty.

OE Exide battery wasn't giving any trouble so far but I noticed the cabin light used to dim while cranking and the HIDs flickered at times while starting, all of which point towards low voltage. To its credit, the old battery used to hold charge for 20-25 days easily while the car was not in use and car always started with a single short crank.

In my Ford Ecosport 2014 Petrol, the OEM battery (likely Motorcraft) lasted for 5 years, and I proactively replaced it to avoid any issues. The second battery also ran for 5 years before completely dying a couple of days ago.

During my last service 9 months ago, the service center recommended replacing the battery, but since I wasn’t facing any problems, I decided to hold off. However, over the past month, the battery started showing signs of wear, with frequent delayed starts. The night before it died, I had to crank the engine multiple times after switching off the lights, AC, and disconnecting the dash cam. By the next morning, the battery was completely dead.

I have a few aftermarket accessories installed, including a rear-view camera with an IRVM display and a hardwired dash cam. In retrospect, I probably should have disconnected the dash cam at night.

I intended to replace the OEM 52Ah battery with the Exide Mileage 50Ah, which offers a longer warranty (30+30 months) compared to the 1-year warranty on the OEM battery. However, the Exide and Amaron 50Ah batteries were shorter in length but taller in height than the Ford OEM battery, so they didn’t fit in the slot. Pressed for time, I ultimately opted for the Exide 44Ah battery. Exide Battery World guy claimed that although the OEM battery is rated at 52Ah, its actual capacity is closer to 45Ah—though I’m not sure how accurate that statement is.

I’m hoping this 44Ah battery will last for the remaining 5 years of the car’s life.

Well, guess it's time for a car battery update. My Amaron Pro 55B24LS (45 AH) suddenly died on me after about 33 months. The battery was completely dead. Even the remote lock/unlock system would not work. I groaned and thought "Yeah 33 months, time for a new battery, so what's new?" But to my great relief it was still under the 36 month replacement warranty.

The dealer was contacted he sent his technician over who took the battery to their workshop for a full recharge + DW topup + test via a battery tester.

To my pleasant surprise it passed the load and voltage tests and now it's back in my car's engine bay. Cost for pickup charge, test and delivery was Rs 650.

Test result per the printout -
CCA as tested - 446 CCA
CCA rating by Amaron - 440
Nominal voltage - 12.66 (normally stated as 12v)
Tested voltage - 12.7 (I suspect a rounding off)

This after 33 months. Way to go Amaron. I like. :thumbs up

PS - I use the car mainly for extended highway runs with hardly any running in the city. The battery is normally removed and connected to either a CTEK or Bosch charger to maintain it. But this time around I guess I screwed up OR I suspect the boot lid was not shut properly and the light remained on. The battery was perfect a week earlier.

After about 6 years and 9 months, my Bosch battery died (or at least I think so). Yesterday morning, the car failed to crank. After I push-started the car and kept it running for 10 min, I was able to crank the engine to life. But did not want to risk it any further. Looked at various options available at Batterywale.com and Batterybhai.com. Zeroed in on "Amaron 35 Ah Battery | AAM-FL-00042B20R" listed at an MRP of Rs. 4716. It was available at 3360 and 3399 at the above portals respectively in exchange for the old battery. But was not sure if I would get the battery delivered on the same day, being a Sunday. Went scouting around my neighborhood and luckily found a shop at less than a km from my house. He had the same Amaron battery and offered it at 3500. He came home and fitted the battery. This now comes with 55 months of warranty (0-30 replacement and 31-55 Pro-rata).

After 5 years and 8 months, this battery was showing signs of growing weak. It sometimes took more than one crank to start the car and on cranking all the lights would dim a bit. I thought it was better to change the battery at this point. So, got an Amaron Go 38B20R model (30 months replacement warranty and 30 months Pro-rata warranty) for a final price of Rs. 3000 after exchanging the old battery. Got it from a battery dealer close to my house and this amount was also the best I could get online as well as offline. I checked with 2-3 more stores and they were quoting a slightly higher price for the same. Hope this gives another close to 6 years of trouble-free ownership experience. This is a 35 Ah battery for the 2006 model Swift 1.3 Petrol car.
