Getz Prime Headlights. Upgrading to Xenons.Help needed

Hi all,

I am facing issues with my Getz prime headlights power. Its only two months old but It becomes difficult whan it comes to driving at night. I think its even worse than the headlights in my 10 years old maruti 800.

Now planning to upgrade it to Xenons. But I dont have much Idea about Xenons , whoich one to go for and how much it will cost.
Is the power consumption less than that of those stock bulbs?

will upgrading headlights would have any effect on the engine warranty?
Your response will be highly appreciated.

Regards,

maX

Xenon

wmax
look out for projectors for getz. upgrading to xenons in regular headlights your focussing goes for a toss. I have earlier used xenons in my lancer headlights but it does not focus properly. So its better if you try it first.
cheers

You really don't need to splurge on xenons. The Getz now has clear lamps, so all you need is a bulb upgrade alongwith the appropriate relays, wiring etc.

Here is a helpful post by pingping:

- use quality wires and an experienced car electrician..

Other details can be found in the following thread... and U'll love driving at night.

HID kits are very expencive, needs technical knowledge to find the original one.... not advisable for normal use, unless you intend to do too much of highway and high speed driving then HID's come handy.... Good luck

Yes, get a set of 90/100 bulbs with relay and upgrade bulb holder to a bakelite made one to handle the increased heat.

Ramie bro, please do install a good quality branded relay and get Ceramic Holders as well. I doubt how long your stock holders would hold up the high heat produced by those bulbs

I didnt want to go directly for the above, so instead I got Phillips 60/55W bulbs to start off with. They are atleast 50% better than Getz stock bulbs. Now I am thinking of going for 90/100 with appropriate relay etc.

Same here buddy
I need to ask you the latest prices for 5050 and advise for a decent budget price wiring kit (combination of different brands for power, RCA, interconnect is also ok). Any suggestions?

I am using Philips Vision Plus 60/55W. They are good and do not require any relay. If your use is mainly on highway, go for 100/90W bulb with relay.

Hi all ,
thanks for your reply. But isnt the battery life gets effected with the use of such powerfull bulbs.

I am planning to go for philips vision plus either 60/55w or 100/90w with appropiate relaying.
By the way, where can I get the relaying done and how much is the cost of Philips vision plus 100/90 w bulb?

Relay kits cost 500rs or so.

Many also suggest Osrams. Please check the relevant thread as I forgot the model name.

I got Philips Vision Plus 60/55w from eBay for around 550 bucks. You will find it cheaper in shops, but beware of fakes.

Try this. I have installed 100/90W with Relay and also going to fit it with Hella Comet 500 100W bulbs with Relay. I have given parallel connection to the extra lights so that when i switch to HighBeam both the Headlights and Hellas switch ON . On low beam only Headlights are ON .
