hi guys,
i have e 2005 chevrolet optra1.6l and it has done 26500kms from day 1 i have maintained it properly like regular service at 5000kms..and regular waxing and washing at the fuel pumps..
now to the point i want to know when do i have to change the suspension and ball joints? my mechanic says i'll have to do the same at 40000kms..now there is no problem with the suspension and i've seen my friends indica it gave him a suspension overhaul at 70000kms is he trying to take me for a ride? and when do i have to change my brake rotors? pls advice as these things are not mentioned in my service manual and also where in mumbai can i source mobil1 and what grade should i use i am basically a city driver and i'm using sae10w-40 catrol magnatec

The safe window for a suspension overhaul is between 40,000 - 50,000 kms. Of course, this is dependant on individual driving styles / conditions. Your friend would have taken his Indica to the 70K mark on the stock suspension, but I doubt it would have been performing optimally at that mileage.
