new e class mirror question

hey guys
was going through an ACI where the said that the ORVMs turn downwards when the car is slotted in reverse
apparently it doesnt happen in my car so does anyne know how i can get it done ?
the owners manual is too big and boring so i dont feel like reading it

i'm not familiar with the dash layout of the e-class but if it is similar to the s-class layout, this will work:

do you know how to scroll to Settings (in the small display area where your Mileage, is displayed) on your dash-board using the steering-mounted switches? - the ones which look like Folders, not the Volume ones.

when you change from Mileage to Settings, you will be able to setup your "Fold Mirrors on Lock" & "Mirror Parking Postion" settings - in addition to a variety of other settings - including head-light timer, car locater, etc..

also, keep the mirror adjustment switch on the driver's-side mirror, only then will the passenger-side mirror lower when you shift into reverse.

you cannot do it to the e class. when have you bought the e class. the 211' produced in 2004 dint have it. the enw ones have sunroof and stuff but i dont think it has it.

the user manual can be an exhaustive read where you usually find most of the stuff you know.

however, there is an Index in the end. go through it. if the feature's included in your car, thats where you'll find it.

will read the manual now as ive tried everything else the only problem is that it is the same manual of all e class model, even ones not in india so it is a bit tough to see if its there for the indian e class or not

I realy doubt it is there. Till I worked with mercedes around 3 months back it wasnt there for sure. Maybe the newer models have it. Do you have the one with the sunroof? Sometimes these things are installed via star diagnostics once the car is here for PDA(pre delivery inspection) Maybe this has been skipped to instal.. Takes 10 mins for the whole job

Yup. Drove the mugen honda. Good initial power but overall not worth the effort. Probably do some more mods then yes. but if it were a manual then it would be fun. but good car.. took it till 160 at bandra and it is good.

Hi, I currently work at AutoHangar. The E class mirrors do not drop down when you engage reverse. Its not a part of settings either. Will need to check and tell you wether it is possible with Star Diagnostics. The feature is there on the new SLK as well as the S class.

mariwala prefers honda's to mercedes and he doesnt really drive his car fast as per his mods. ive seen his dad driving and i can say he is fast on the roads. unlikely it is not like father like son situation. but different people have different styles of driving. lets hope one day he does start driving fast and starts taking part in drag races. atleast in one to start with.
