changing the clutch cable and the release bearing should sort out the issue.

Re: Hard clutch in Esteem.

Friends, I am in need of some advice on my Esteem's clutch. The car completed 10 years on 9th of this month and I don't intend to part with her ever. As part of a mid-life makeover I would like to give her, I wish to fix the clutch which has been a sore point from day one.

The car came factory fitted with Ceekay clutch plate and at the end of 39K kms I changed over to Valeo as suggested by an independent garage here in Chennai. I do not see a great difference despite that. The clutch cable has been changed too but to no avail. The car has done about 8K on the new clutch and am simply not happy with it. I would like to know if there are imported Suzuki OE clutch plates such as Asco etc that are available for the Esteem. I have tried Asco in my M800 long ago and it used to work like a dream. Any pointers in this direction would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Re: Hard clutch in Esteem.

You can take a look at Exedy clutches, they are good.

May be OEM replacement or Stage 1 depends on your choice, should be available in Bangalore easily.

Re: Hard clutch in Esteem.

hi,
I too am looking for a clutch overhaul on my esteem
1)Excedy clutch that i saw had formerly ceekay diakin written on the cover.
others that i saw were
2)Valeo
3)PHC

Which is the best for esteem? There is no problem with my clutch except that i experience engine shudder when i release clutch unless i accelerate higher while releasing...is it a clutch issue or something else?
