GTO has explained it perfectly in his 2nd post. This is a normal feature, have a word with MASS and they should be able to explain it.
Car rolls in neutral and the revs go up, interestingly with gear changes from a higher gear to neutral the idle revs also go up.
Give it 5 mins, things settle down.
Or else don't roll in neutral when you start the car the first time/after a long time for at least the 1st 10 mins of driving.

Just spray WD40 on the Accelarator cable. Or lubricate it properly and the problem should dissappear.

I too had this worry esp after installing the conical filters. Even I had to apply brakes (after engaging the gear) to control the car as it rolls fastly. But settles down after few minutes and this happens only during cold starts

900 rpm, isnt that too high minus ice or a/c. which car is this you are talking about.
Which of the modern mpfi cars have an idling rpm of 600-750 ?

makes sense in the age of traffic & 50 +fuel prices.

Most cars 3cyl and 4 cyl cars have idling set between 750 - 900 without a/c and 900-1100 with a/c
