I have a 1985 suzuki 800,
Want to know if i replace the airbox with a cold air intake that K&N have on offer and fit it feeding the carb directly???
Also i am open to any and every suggestion that you petrolheads have for engine mods!!
Like free flow exhausts....headers...iridium spark plugs...performance plug cables.....brake and suspension mods and where i could source all this stuff from!!

Hi.
Welcome to TBHP.
Just seen your blue 1985 suzuki 800. Looks nice. Are they 165 size wheels?
I have one 1984 model with K&N direct fit. Yes you can have all these from your wish list. Not a problem at all. But as you're saving money to paint your car, I suggest do that first. Body tapping needs maximum time and give more time for getting the body ready for nice paint finish.

Rest of your mods are easy to carry through.

Nice to see someone still drives an old baby.

Cheers

I don't remember the model number but you can ask for 800's size.
It's a direct replacement filter and I've removed the air filter box. Filter is sitting on the carb face directly. Sandwiched between two plates.

hey buddy...about the k&n filter what you can do is get a custom made pipe..which fits on the carb n make sure the pipe is kind of thin not 2 broad...n well you know how it works so keep the filter away frm the engine bay...basically a custom made cold air intake ...and you can use a universal k&n filter model number 3570...if you need any info with plugs n peformnace parts...just pm me...cheers...

hey buddy...the filter that you see..the carb mounted filter...that is not practical when you use your car on a daily basis...it's meant when you get the car out for limited usage..well because the exposure is maximum..and yes the 3570 is listed on the knfilters site..http://www.knfilterchargers.com/sear...d=RU-3570..and i have cleared my inbox..i think i should get your message now..cheers...

Hey!!!!

Seriously dragger.....the K&N page doesnt have the 3570!!! check the print screen i took when i clicked on the link you posted...

And could you please elaborate on your point of the carb mounted filter not being a good option for everyday use? And this time could you also send me a picture of the 3570 you are talking about...coz i'd like to see it!!
Ciao....

Hot rod man!!......its very simple.....its all about power.....the Carb is already on the car or bike....the free flow helps the exhaust gases out of the engine as smoothly and as fast as possible....
What we are discussing on this thread is if i should fit a Performance K&N filter on my 1985 Suzuki 800 Mikuni Carb.....the more air going in the better the combustion.....the better the combustion.......the more the power......its relative!!
