Electricals overhaul

My Lancer has now run 75k+ kms. Is it a good time to go in for an electricals overhaul? How much would that cost?

I have found some niggling issues with electricals in the past few months. With the advent of the monsoon, these have accentuated. The power window switches do not work always. The digital display (odo and trip meter) is bad at times. The headlights are dimmer now (must be something with the relay). Automatic door lock is erratic.

The next service is due in less than 1000 kms and I plan to take it to Mitsu A.S.S and take their opinion on the electricals. It would help if I am a bit informed about the same at my end to deal tactfully with the A.S.S.

75K+ kms is not the problem. How old is your car ? I think the time has come to replace the battery, if its more tha 3 years old. You could probably have the Starter and the alternator overhauled. The motor units on the doors may have become weak, that's why the central locking could be giving you trouble.

So long....
