Saving on fuel at traffic signals

Hi Guys! I have a question for all you guys. When we come across a traffic signal and have to halt What is the minimum time duration required to really save on some fuel? Is it worth switching off the ignition while waiting for a 30 second signal in order to save fuel or does the signal have to be for a longer duration?

1 minute is what experts advise for engine shutdown. But if its 30sec. or so, put the car in neutral, pick the foot from throttle & switch off ac. This will help in saving wee bit of fuel.
