Sudden FE problem in Santro

i have a 2004 Santro that has been running on CNG for the last 2 years. it has done over 51000 kms till date.

suddenly since last week the car started giving almost half the average it used to give before. nothing has been changed or any service done. i have tried changing the air filter and checking tire pressure etc but still no change in the fuel efficiency of the car.

help needed guys.....

Go to service station. possible causes-
1] spark plug problem causing misfire
2] engine tuning to be set
3] petrol pump delivered incorrect amount of fuel
i had same problem with my alto last month. servicing solved the problem.

and another possible reason could be the carbon formation and the grime that would have settled in the engine, just check for this too, you might need injectors cleaning etc.

a good service and check up all these and the above mentioned things should solve the problem.

I agree with rider60 here and assuming you might have already done the injector cleaning once before around 30K Kms, might be the reason as well resulting in drop in FE @ the new odo reading.

Check the following,
1. air filter
2. plugs (does it misfires)
3. injectors
4. tuning & timing check
