Have you already tried searching in the BHP Garage? Lots of SX4 pictures there.

SX4 - Need Used Engine

The Oil was not changed correctly either by Driver and engine was turned on and driven with very low oil level in it.

Everything is messed up.

Any chance of finding a slightly used engine in BLR ?
Please PM urgent, need to get it back on road asap!

[No i dont want to fix an already new engine, I want engine replaced]

Its probably best to go ask Maruti (or an authorized service centre). I doubt that there are many used SX4 engines available as of now.

Check with MASS if any Total loss vehicle came, some will have their engines intact and can be bought.

Hi Aerohit, a replacement engine, especially for the SX4, would be extremely difficult to source. May I ask who suggested that you replace the entire engine ? And could you elaborate on "everything is messed up" ? Did the engine seize up ?

Modern engines are more resilient than we give them credit for. Moreover, I'm guessing an M-series engine would have detected the low oil pressure & switched to "limp-home" mode - things may not be bad enough to warrant an engine change.

The problem with a replacement engine is it's questionable history, you could just be exchanging one problem for another !

I dont think you'll get any used M16 engine. You might get earlier engines with some luck.

hey bro..you can easily get a new engine replacemnt done at any reputed M.A.S.S in your city. Maruti Suzuki India offers complete engine replacement at very reasonable costs for almost any Maruti car. I know this because i had seen all this written in the form of a advt at one of the M.A.S.S. But you might have to double check. Best of Luck..you'll need it !

As someone pointed out, search around for any total loss car damage.
Or else get the engine replaced.

It will be very difficult to source a second hand M16.

Those letters in bold - what do they mean?

And I believe that at least one sx4 had serious damage during a TD. That is in bangalore itself.

As pointed out, I do not see why you cannot re-build the engine - and if you insist, upgrade. Source the MJD!!!

Have you got the engine checked ? What all is messed up ? Is it more costly to repair the damage than to replace the engine ? I should think not. Let the M.A.S.S. take a look & give you a run down on it.

Uh oh, sounds like your engine has seized up. Considering that the SX4 is a relatively recent launch, wouldn't your car have been serviced exclusively by the M.A.S.S.? If you have to repair it yourself, I'd suggest rebuilding the existing engine than swapping with a used one. That is, if you manage to find a used SX4 engine in the first place.

get the extent of damage checked. 9 out of 10 times it can be repaired and will be as good as new!
You are in Bangalore..check with any of the tuners in bangalore..they will be more than willing to help.

Else get the whole thing done by MASS, your insurance will cover it.
