Opel Astra vibration problems

Hi everyone

A few months earlier I got a 98 opel astra petrol. I started getting a strange problem now a days. Whenever I drive my car above 100km/hr, the car starts shaking very badly. even the steering starts vibrating very badly. the vibration starts at 90km/hr, which is mild, and becomes severe once i reach 120/hr. i am unable to go beyond 120 due to this probs.

The tyres are new. Engine foundation bushes are good. everthing seems to be right, but this vibrating is very frustrating.

Please help me out friends. Also, when I switch on my AC, the car's pickup drops drastically. Please let me know what could be the problem.

Please help me friends

Thanks and regards

balancing

How new are the tyres?

One or more of your wheels are probably not balanced.

That's what I'd get looked at first.

Wheel balancing would be my first suspect. If that doesn't work you could have worn out wheel bearings. I think you should check the bearings first though.

@ RacingHart

As vibrations are felt at high speeds, please have wheel balanced with a dynamic balancing machine (available at most tyre shops). If problem persists, then look at other components like bearings.
What kind of wheels is Astra running on, stock steel wheels or alloys?

My beauty is running with the original factory installed 5 spoke alloys. I got my wheel balanced, the vibration has decreased a little bit, the only difference is, now i feel the vibrations if i reach 140 k/hr. dono what to do. Please suggest.
