ikon ignition coil bought from ebay - better quality?

just wondering about this. since folks complain about the quality of the coil, does anyone have experience running a coil sourced from the UK such as this one:
FORD FIESTA ZETEC IGNITION COIL 1.25 1.3 1.4 1.6 16V on eBay, also, Ford, Car Parts, Cars, Parts Vehicles (end time 12-Sep-08 15:36:10 BST)

costs just INR 1420 + shipping.

anyone know if there is any merit to buying these kinds of parts from ebay? can i expect more durability over the OEM stuff you get here?

EDIT: mods - not sure if this belongs here or the modification forum. please move as applicable.

I know the chinese ignition coil meant for the Ikon costs around a 1000 bucks in the market.
And I've heard it doesn't last more than a couple of days.
I've paid Rs.2500 for the OE ignition coil and its worked well without a hiccup(touchwood).

thanks nitrous but i should be more clear. actually it's not so much the cost that i'm interested in. i'm more interested in whether it will be more durable than the indian made part. (i'm guessing that nowadays the part is indeed made in india).

Silver_shadow, has the OEM coil (available here) been localised? Who makes it? If it is a reputable Bosch or the like, I don't think there will be any compromise on quality. However, if the coil is a Ford branded (unknown source) product, I don't take pride in stating that Euro quality tolerances will be thinner than ours.

actually i don't remember now. but since the ignition coil keeps giving way (most ikon owners will testify to this) i'm guessing it's probably not bosch.

In that case, you don't have too much to lose @ 1400 bucks. Try it and update us if it works out reliable!

Your shipping alone would cost you another 600-800. Did you factor that ?
