| cylinder head gasket & tensioner bearing in 2k1 ikon 1.6? anyone know how much the gasket costs along with bolts? is anything else required? anyone have any experience replacing this and how much did labour cost? how much time - a days job? what about the tensioner bearing? PS: RAC mentioned a tentative figure of 8k for the former and 13k for the tensioner bearing!  |

| i seem to be doing most of the answering! just phoned metro ford - head gasket is 1600 including tax and head bolts are 120 each incl tax. not sure whether the RAC guy was mistaken when he told me the cost. i'm thinking since i'm at it i might consider doing some head work done else i'll have to shell out another 2k+ for changing the gasket again. will keep you guys posted  |
