I am looking at a '08 Civic AT (2nd owner) with ~70k kms on the odo. It was bought in '10 with less than 30k kms on the odo and I guess the 2nd owner was a teen who might have abused.
Can anyone give me tips on what all things to look for and an approx price I can ask for?
I got my 2007 VMT for 5.65 last month (2nd owner/32k done). So i Guess anything between 5 to 5.5 will be a good price(If im not wrong Automatics fetch lower resale prices)

If you are sure/skeptical of the abuse, then i would suggest not to bother much about this example and give it a skip. There will be plenty of real good Civic's in the market, and it will be just a matter of time and some search for you to chance upon one such pre worshiped one.
I drove the car, didn't find anything wrong. It has run 53k kms. Tires are Hankook 205/15" in good condition. Its the V AT model. After comparing it with CVT NHC, I find that the gear lever is pretty hard in civic. Also I can feel the gear changes on lower gear in civic (maybe 1st to 2nd), is that normal?

Owning an AT, now at 1,25,000 kms (going for the routine service next week) and six years, I have had no problems worth mentioning till now. So if driven properly by the previous owner it will last for a very long time.
I have always found the AT doing a wonderful job. In fact I never had to use the paddle-shift (unless when racing). After you get used to it, it feels as if you have a telepathic link with the transmission! And I have driven a lot in hills, highways and inside congested cities, the transmission will shift according to the terrain and the driver.
Hey guys
I have a problem with my ICE that has been bothering me for a while.
I listen mostly to trance and at low-mid volume and with tracks with a little higher bass, the civic's panels rattle like crazy and its very annoying.
I don't think the dampening was done properly (sadly it was not done in my presence)
From your experience, will dampening the plastic door panels solve this issue?

Damping will solve the issue, if done properly. It's best if you get it done in your presence. If left unattended, will lead to a greater issue in the future.

What all should I look out for while getting it done?

Firstly, do give your system a hear, before anf after the damping. Sometimes the damping does not really make your system sound better.
Oversee the installation and tell them to avoid the hot parts or serious component damage, could occur.
Lastly, if you're going for damping as the last gap option 'cause your system isn't sounding as well as it should, then you might not be satisfied.

To add on, apart from the sound quality, give importance to the way they fit and deal with the panels that are dismounted for the damping installation.
If this taking away and putting back of the panels are not done properly, the panels will start to rattle.
This applies not only to damping, but whenever the dashboard, door panels etc has to be meddled with.
Got it done.
There is some sort of plastic rattle noise still filtering in and they tried but couldn't figure out where it is coming from.
The door panel is completely damped but its still there, though a little less :(

Yeah. Small niggles sometimes persist. Maybe you can take it back when you have the time for a more thorough investigation.

That's the plan. Will go back to Motor Concepts tomorrow and figure this out
I have a 2007 civic and of late, there is rattling when I drive over potholes. Any idea what it could be? hopefully not the engine mounts. How to check?
How much will the replacements cost?
Today I Placed an order for the Suspension Ball Joints and Tie rod for my Civic with HASS which was estimated to be around 10k.
Later Just Checked out a local dealer here in JC road which was listed in the Team-Bhp Bangalore Directory and got to know after market one's comes around for 3k ,a difference of 7k.:Frustrati.
Should I go with the After market Ones or stick to OEM please:
