Today, while on the traffic red-light, I forgot to dis-engage the hand brake (which was pulled up midly) and I drove it for a few yards and there was a beep beep sounds and I got scared because I was returning from the 2nd service and for a while, thought, they had messed the car.. the point is, I like it.. a small but very helpful warning beep with the brake gauge blinking... is this present in the previous Civic (and other cars - didn't have it in SX4)?

Quite a useful feature indeed ! By the way is it not time for the Civic owners to start a thread on "Did you know..?" series for the Civic ? It would prove very useful for the existing owners and aspiring owners (read that as me :D) as well.

Do anyone carry honda civic service schedule ?? Like recommended service schedules and things to be checked at service !!

That information is there in the service booklet. A couple of very useful tables and lists that show what is checked at what service.

There's another one, if you leave the headlights on and take out the key, then you get a small chime again.

^ That happens in my NHC as well. I think that feature is present every Honda. ?

Another one I noticed.

When you put the ac blower in Leg or Leg and Front position, Some air is directed through the cup holder to cool any beverage can kept there. Also little air comes out through the gap of the hand rest. I find this very useful to cool my left hand when it sweats.

Hi,
Can you put up a scanned copy of the bill here, please?
My next service is due on the 27th. I would like to have ammunition to fight for mineral oil.

I think you never noticed this request.

Anyway, I did not have to fight this time. I was given the option of mineral oil or Synthetic with oil change interval of 10000kms (but still have to go for the 5000kms service).

Rajesh, sorry yaar. Did not notice it. Was completely in the Bangalore OTR loop. Will do that over the weekend :)

BTW for Civic they charge for 4 litres always.

The corolla felt very 'loose' over 90-100 kmph (on a comparative basis of course) the engine was very rough after 4,500 rpm and the 4 speed AT was quite pathetic. The corolla also felt very tinny on doors / boot. If you observe, every corolla will have a dent in the front top fender.

I agree with your observations. The older Corolla had a tinny feel to it but nowhere as bad as my OHC or Esteem. My 9G had a small ding on the front left fender and I still dont know when and how it happened.
The Altis' build quality is better but not by much.

Both Corollas are designed for comfort and easy driving on highway or in the city. I love the Altis' EPS it makes for effortless steering at low speeds and whilst parking. The Civic beats the pants off the 9G in handling while the Altis is comes close due to its wider and lower stance compared with the outgoing model.

Cheers!
