What about others any bad experience of tyre wearing out faster than normal specially bridgestone B250.
All 5.
Rotation every 5K, alignment balancing every 10K, sometimes need based.

Ok thanks for everyone for their input...... but is there any tyre which is good enough in all aspect like comfort, performance , grip and hard enough to last at least 40K I cant drive below 120 whenever I get a chance on highway but it is always controlled drive never did screeching infact the ABS has played its role 2-3 times at max

You're asking for the perfect tyre.

If it's hard enough to last long, it won't be comfortable or grippy. If it's soft enough to grip hard, it won't last long. It's always a compromise.

QFT. I simply love the Civic's handling and ability to take curves at decent speeds and the tires are usually screeching. What is the point of a driver's car when you do not 'drive' it.

That being said, my tires are fairly decent at 19k kms. But it does seem average life of civic tires are a bit less than other cars, no matter what the driving style. I expect them to last another 10k km/1 year max. I intend to upgrade to 205/65/15 either Bridgestones or Primacy LCs, sooner than later.

Primacy LC is roughly 6600 per tyre is it really worth the price?
Any feedback here? Aslo with the upgraded size to 205/65/15 whats the feel, feedback from people already running on this size?

Probably 1-1.5k or so more per tire. Total 5-7k worth it I think for silence, better grip. Read the thread on civic tire upgrades (link in same thread a few posts earlier). Larger OD = better GC and civic can handle the better width well.

I bought the OEM size 195/65R15 for Rs.4,900/- (Primacy LC).
I think tyre-companies have higher margins thus higher rates for 'upgraded-sizes' since they know that those who upgrade will pay more!

May be this is the reason..... How much have you driven on your LC and what is the difference you feel? this price is very reasonable considering Primacy LC

LC is on my front only. The rear still has MXV8, my older set.

Have driven 5K kms and it is silent and with smooth feel. (MXV8 was very noisy).

Seems Primacy LC is the most favoured one as an allrounder..... It is better than Potenza or they are in same legue?

Went for the first long trip in my 10 day old car. Bangalore > Kollur > Bangalore. Total 907 kms door to door. Now the car is ready for first service with total mileage about 1080kms.

Journey was pretty comfortable with absolutely no tiredness for any of the family members. Touched a max speed of 133 at some stretch near Shimoga. Tried to keep the RPM below 3k except for a couple of overtaking maneuvers in single lane/two lane roads between Shimoga and Kollur. We went through Ayanur, Ripponpet, Hosanagara. Roads are pretty decent with some odd rough stretches and small diversions.

Haven't changed my GoodYear NCT tyres yet. They are surely not meant for speeds above 120. Planning to change them only after some of the long and "rough" trips planned for this summer. They are very noisy on rough roads. The boom was so high on some stretches of roads that it resembled an airplane on the tarmac!

Got an average FE of 12.8 kmpl end to end. Seems to be decent for the type of roads and my driving. One thing I observed is that using S mode with paddles do help to reduce fuel consumption on twisty/ghat roads. Keep an eye on the rpm and gear position and try to shift it to lower gears (I mean from 3 to 4 and 5, or is it higher?) whenever possible. When I started from Kollur, initially it was showing about 7 kmpl due to the ghat roads when in D mode. I then changed it to S mode and started using paddles. The FE then improved to 9.5 kmpl on similar stretch. I dont think it makes much sense on highways and smooth roads as the D mode selects gear pretty intelligently.

And yes, my car did scrape its bottom; some of them very hard at humps near Nelamangala and one in Bannerghatta road. Hope it did not create any damage. Lookng forward to my first service.

My Civic had done 47km in total on the OE Bridgestones after which I switched over to Primacy LC the very next day.

@manim: The deal I got is slightly expensive than what you got - 5100 INR per tyre. But I did get free wheel balancing with it and the tyres were all from the Dec 2009 lot.
