Check paytm for wiper blades by Hella, the Curvo ones. I got them for my Swift too. Happy with the purchase.

Not sure if it is a wise decision. Get a new tyre IMO. May cost you some money but will also get you peace of mind.

Tubeless tyres are better if they are Tubeless.

Thanks Anurag! Are the wiper blades 'frameless' types? The ones that come as OE fitment are fully flexible and do not have a metal frame over them.
Please let me know as you got them for your Swift.

1. Needs oil change. Preferably OEM 0w-30.
2. Needs new wiper blades.
3. Cabin light bulb and one backlit switch bulb has gone kaput.
4. Needs alignment; pulling to left side.
5. Planning to put a tube inside rear left tire.

Any advice from members regarding the above?

Regards
Saket.
I tried Castrol 5W30, quite happy - if you don't want to go all the way till HASS
Wiper blades last time I replaced at HASS costed some 1200 or so for both

What happened to the tyre? My sixth tyre has a tube in there

You just need to replace the rubber strips inside the wiper blades and not the entire blade itself. Should cost about Rs.1,000 at the dealership.

2 spare wheels??
Actually the left rear wheel has suffered a few punctures at almost the same spot and now even after plugging those repair strips, it is still leaking slowly. I have spare wheel (B'stone) in fairly good condition but was trying to avoid tread mismatch among the wheels. (rest are Pirelli).
Regards.

Honda only replaces the inserts. Price about ₹800 each. Original Japanese stuff.

Re: Honda Civic : Maintenance, Service Costs and Must dos

I am back in India after about 7 months abroad. I had disconnected my battery leads while leaving and I could get the car started in the first attempt itself when I came back. Thanks to the advice i received here. However one of the tyres was flat which I replaced with spare tyre for now. Have to take it to a tyre repair shop to check if there are any punctures.

I now have a bigger problem with significant amount of mold on my leather seats and even on door leather sections :( The light colored seats now have a lot of brown patches of mold and the interior stinks really bad. I think this is caused by the damp conditions inside my car after a servicing at HASS just before I left country. I am struggling to find a good solution to this problem. Tried with 3M Car Care Center and they did not a have a good solution. All they could do was the usual interior cleaning. They did a demo of their cleaning solution and it could not remove or even reduce the brown patches on the seat. The best solution from them was to get a new seat cover . Any experiences from owners here ?

When I bought my pre-owned civic it had this nasty smell, a mix of mildew and tobacco that just wouldn't go away despite a steam wash, interior cleaning, baking powder and myriad perfumes. I finally got rid of it after placing small pouches of activated carbon under the seats, in the dashboard, every nook and corner basically and even invested in a cabin air filter and put a small pouch in the filter grooves. It was all gone in two days. Trust me the activated charcoal works. You can buy a 500 gms pack off amazon India for Rs.100 and give it a shot.

P.S - Try to get hold of charcoal got from burning coconut shells as it works best.

Bhpians,

Given the recent articles and threads about the Takata airbags, is it safe to drive around in the civic?

Wasn't your Civic part of the recall?

If it is replaced then why are you worried?

PS: Why only drivers-side was replaced? Aren't both the airbags mage by the same manufacturer (Read Takata)?

So technically both airbags should have been replaced at the same time when you were called for the recall.

Chennai is a pretty hot and humid city and as per international articles, the chemical in Takata's airbags (Ammonium nitrate) becomes unstable in these whether conditions.

And, the recall for civics are only for the driver side airbag inflator. Bhpians, please confirm?

I have a feel that the passenger side inflator would also require replacement and it was not replaced due to global supply demand issues.
